Some changes to the single track layout in and around the four fingers.

    fingers.jpg

All the changes are well signposted, go in on the green markers and you're good.

The rightmost of the four fingers (viewed from the bottom) now runs downhill (just as it often got used for scrambles). This provides an alternate entry into the fingers from Trail 1. The exit to Finger 1 has been diverted a little further downhill and is now directly opposite what used to be the exit of Valley View trail.

I say 'used to be' because it's now the entrance to Valley View which now runs uphill. However, it doesn't exit on trail 1 at the old entrance, it now follows the contours a little below trail 1 and re-joints the top of the Fingers at the 'hub' (by the oak tree) where the Fingers all join together.

Finger 3 now runs downhill and finger two remains the main, uphill run.

Finger 4 is closed. It's had problems with one section falling into the creek for a while.

So you can now combine the fingers and valley view into loops.

I also noticed there are some new logs in the trials section. Those will definitely be on my list for a future practice session.

A big thumbs up from me to Mike and the Metcalf park staff for these changes. This helps make the best of a small park and keep the interest of a wider variety of riders.
