Make all your Dakar dreams come true for as little as €22,000 OTD. (That's US$30K :eek )

You couldn't get close to it.:ibeenripp
    010s.JPG
Maybe because it's twice as expensive as any other bike in the shop.. :redface

Very sexy. Looking close, you can see where all the money goes. These are not built as your average KTM.

They've got you covered - Bling for the bike and bling for you
    025s.JPG
And more bling, lots and lots. There was some 12 to 15 units like this, just full of coloured alloy and carbon bits

This guy was just picking up his bike after some "tweeking" by the Performance shop.
He was the only one that spoke some English to me. He explained he just had .... (lots of technical Italian words) done to his bike :idunno . He was very happy. :biggrin

I was very impressed with the shop and everything. A better selection of stuff I have never seen.
The Italians take their biking seriously :rad

Wow, love that visual tour!:rad I go to shops when traveling, too. I checked out a Suzuki shop in northern Spain a couple months ago......unfortunately I got there outside of business hours, but it was disappointing because it was very basic and had the same bikes one would see here. It seemed like walking in off El Camino.

This shop in Milan though, man they've got it goin' on.:thumbup

Oh, I'd love to take that 690 for a spin. That shoe protector on the shifter is just has to go, but it's so Italian it's even funny :smilewink

The extra pipe on the 250 looks like a home-made expansion chamber. Take a look at the FMF lineup: http://www.fmfracing.com/products/catalog.aspx?CategoryID=32

    That Rally... :drool
Unfortunately the spare parts are as pricy as the bike itself.
I've got a bunch of friends back home that bought ex-Dakar bikes. They love them to death, but cry every time something breaks.

Rob, While on the topic of rallys.
I already know it's a small world so you don't happened to know Troy Carpenter (Bob's son) ?
(and let's see if you make the obscure connection)
I ran in to him before I left Sweden, now he's having a blast playing rally director for all my old friends. :ibeenripp

Thanks for the pictures! Wish there was a KTM dealer like that near my home. :)

Is this coming to the US? After riding my 640 I really like the bike but the vibrations could be less it would be near perfect, hear the 690's are much better.

I put my hand on the test bike when some guys took it for a ride. It was smooth, even when they rev'd it. My guess is that it is about the same as a F650 smooth or better. :thumbup This is not a bored out 640. Oh and all the oil filters are in very accessible places. Also being a current 640 owner I know the importance of this :laughing... I understand that the valves are shimmed - not my favourite idea but what yar gonna do :rolleyes

The standard exhausts sound a bit girlish but another guy turned up on a 690 with Akrapovics on it (already!!) - Now that what I'm talking about. :rad

In Italy - its Akrapovic or it's nothing.. or so it seams...

That was on the test bike, I guess they are thinking of everyone's Gucci shoes :laughing

Yeah, I guessed something like that (Expansion / resonate chamber) . I suggest its not home made. That's a titanium Akra, the welding was perfect.

Who cares, it's just money.. :smilewink Well anyway, that 690 Rally was just sexy as hell (to me). It was so different to any KTM I've ever seen including the old 660 Rallys (one was parked next to it). You could see everything was meant for business. All brackets, bolts, piping, mountings all far sturdier build than we normally see. Huge foot pegs, all outer panels quick connects. Like looking at F1 cars. You know this is built with one purpose in mind. :thumbup

I don't know :thinking - there was a Troy Carpenter (I think) some where near Orange way when I was young and racing dirt. :idunno Orange and district was a major birth place for great racers (Dirt and Road) in Oz, must be the water :laughing
