Chris (melroc) called a ride to Parkfield and going through Nacimiento, ending up in Carmel. Some people thought this was a fine idea and came along for the ride. :thumbup

The ghost of Jimmy got up to see what these things were. Do you know what those things on the wall are for?

Thanks, Gary! You will have to wait for Tim's post for those. I am not quick enough to get in front of everyone and get those action shots. :ride

:lol We'll just have to wait and see...

Too bad you couldn't make this ride, Gary. We'll have to do it again. Conditions were perfect. Also, there was a big water crossing on the army base. I've never been there before. Is it always there? I sure enjoy those. :ride

Yeah I was thinking about y'all today, but I enjoyed hanging with my family for sure.

That water crossing dries up in the summer. I posted some video of some SBR members crossing that river earlier this year I think, not sure about that though.

It's not a mandatory water crossing, there's a short detour around it.

It's only a seasonal thing. The view form the Detour Bridge...

The Indians route has a more Dramatic impact, but does not offer a way out at its end to the general public.

Family is important. :thumbup I'm sorry I missed your video. My connection is pretty slow, so sometimes I don't see all vids. I really enjoyed the water crossing.

When have you known me to avoid a perfectly good water crossing? :smilewink :lol

The detour bridge is the green bridge right next to the water, right? Looks like you guys were having fun out there! Good way to clean off those dual sports after coming down off the ridge. :thumbup Ooh. that Indians route looks interesting. I'll need to look into that further on a different ride.

I loved the Parkfield Grill! I'll be going there again. :drool Oh, and that was John's Crackberry. He brought it so we could compare how SBR displayed on his model Blackberry vs on mine. You see, even in the middle of a ride, we were trying to help out Andy. :nerd

Jimmy brought some other kind of slide phone along. :lol

    Nice Pic's Laura.
Haven't been to Parkfield in awhile.
Some interesting stuff on the walls in there.

These are lopers with gear drives.
I believe these were used to dehorn cattle.
